Primary NQT programme
March 27 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
In this workshop, NQTs will be introduced to a wide range of theoretical research relating to challenging different groups of pupils, including the more able. They will consider Zygotsky’s ‘zone of proximal development’ as well as the concepts of pace, depth and breadth, having the opportunity to plan and reflect upon scenario-based and observed lessons from across the curriculum. The session will explore the use of Socratic questioning as a means of challenging all learners. It will also look at how enquiry-based learning and deep end instruction tasks can promote independence and higher order thinking skills.
