All applications for teacher training with Arthur Terry School must be made through UCAS.
To register with UCAS you will be required to submit your name, address and date of birth.
You will need a username – which is your email address – and you create a password.
UCAS will then provide you with a personal ID.
You will need to accept the UCAS terms and conditions.
Once you have completed your registration you will be asked to complete your personal details. As you will be working with children UCAS will need to know that you agree to a Disclosure and Barring check, or if you have any criminal convictions.
ADDING YOUR PROGRAMME CHOICES
How many choices you can make depends on whether you’re in Apply 1 or Apply 2.
You use Apply 1 first and you can make up to three choices. Should you fail to receive any offers in Apply 1 you can move onto Apply 2, where you can make one choice at a time.

YOUR EDUCATION SO FAR
Please provide details of all secondary and higher education qualifications you have achieved so far.
You will need to tell us about your degree, the classification of your degree or the classification you expect to achieve.
If you do not have qualifications from the UK, you will need to obtain a statement of comparability from NARIC.
You will be required to register for skills tests. Any offer you receive with be conditional on you completing these tests.
SCHOOL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
In this section please provide as much information as possible about your school experience and work history. For work not in a school or college include information that illustrates your transferable skills, particularly those that would be valuable in the classroom.
YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT
This is where you show us why you want to be a teacher and why you would make a great one.
You will probably want to include your reasons for wanting to teach, evidence that you understand the rewards and challenges of teaching. Provide details of your abilities and skills you can bring to teaching, for example, practical experience, managing people, working with or leading a team and communication skills.
FINALLY YOU NEED TO PROVIDE TWO REFERENCES
Your application will not be sent until two references are attached to it. You need to provide the names and contact details of two people as referees. UCAS will contact your referees on your behalf to provide a reference. Referees are given 2 weeks to provide a reference and you will be informed by UCAS once these have been received, but you will not be able to see them.
References can cause a delay in your application, we would recommend that you contact your referees and ask them to respond as soon as possible.
