James gets a kick out of the World Karate Championships

From bottom left to right; Sensei Pansy Wright and Arthur Terry School student, James Holloway, James Holloway attends the Zen Shin Mere Green Karate Academy ran by Sensei John Richards 8th Dan, who is chief instructor and president of WKA Traditional Karate England. After competing in the WKA World Championship Qualifier at the National Open Championships in Birmingham in February, James won a bronze medal in the Junior Kata category (10yrs – 12yrs) and qualified for a place on the Traditional Karate England Squad. The squad took part in the WKA World Championships in Tuscany, Italy, during 28th October to 2nd November 2014, where 48 countries took part. Arthur Terry Student James said “I felt incredibly proud to represent England at the World Karate Championships, where our England squad won 4 silver and 2 bronze medals. It was an amazing experience and I have high hopes of re-qualifying in 2015 so that I can return to compete again next year.” Overall the Zen Shin England Squad won 4 silver and 2 bronze medals at the championships in total. James said “It was a fantastic experience and the squad as a whole did bring home a number of medals”
