At peak times there are large numbers of students moving across site, particularly near reception and the front of school area. Vehicles moving and parking pose a considerable risk to the safety of students, a risk that is heightened during the busiest times of day. Drivers are asked to please manoeuvre and park vehicles with sensitivity and consideration to all pedestrians entering or leaving site, allowing them to do so as safely as possible. Sainsbury’s (Active Kids Get Cooking) Vouchers The Food Technology Department would really appreciate as many vouchers as possible so that we can get some new equipment. If you, or anyone you know shops in Sainsburys, please could you collect the vouchers and send them into school or put them in the box in reception. FOUR OAKS CLUSTER CHOIR – NEWS UPDATE! International Eisteddfod, Llangollen 2014 We’re excited to report that both the Four Oaks Cluster Choir and Sutton Coldfield Youth Voices have been invited to perform at the prestigious International Eisteddfod this July. We sent off recorded entries last November, and have been accepted as a result – and according to the organisers, the standard of entry from hundreds of choirs was ‘extraordinarily high’, so we’re chuffed to bits. Across the two choirs and their are15 schools are represented, and 100 singers altogether. Over 30 of these are from Arthur Terry school! We will be performing over two days, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th July, in three categories: Senior, Junior and Folk. It will be a fantastic experience for all involved, with an overnight stay in prospect, and also participation in the ‘Parade Of Nations’ – a real cultural feel. We’re hoping for good results after the success last year, when the Four Oaks Cluster Choir made its debut at the festival, coming 3rd with 86.0 points – narrowly 2nd place, with Lindley Junior choir gaining 86.3! We will keep you posted on our progress, which also includes Choir Of the Year 2014 auditions. We are also undertaking a series of fundraising activities to raise money for the trip. These include a Quiz Night, Barn Dance and Variety Show. Four Oaks Cluster Orchestra This growing group of super musicians is open to anyone who plays a musical instrument and would like to develop further in their musical skills.
