The next step now is to contact your placement provider and determine the finer details, including the dress code, and, your start and finish times. Many placements ask that you go in beforehand and have a brief chat with them so that you are fully aware of what is required of you. Calling them sooner rather than later will ensure you have time to do this. You also need to ensure you know how to get to your placement and how long it will take, if you are travelling on public transport it may be worth having a trial run beforehand. We will be holding an assembly towards the end of June regarding the Health and Safety aspect of work experience. Please ensure you read all of the literature you are given and also adhere to the rules and regulations outlined by your own work experience placement provider. All placements are different and have very different health and safety regulations; please ask your placement provider to go over this with you on your first day if they haven’t already. We always enjoy visiting students where we can, and most students can expect a member of staff to visit them at some point throughout the fortnight. Please make sure you fill in your work experience diary, which will be handed to you during the health and safety presentation, and also any literature the placement provider has asked you to complete. We will write up a report on how you have got on and this can then be used for any forthcoming interviews, maybe for a Saturday job or a sixth form interview. If you have any concerns or queries about the fortnight of work experience please ask on reception for Mrs Humphreys, I am based in the main admin office next to reception. Alternatively you can email me on The date for next years work experience for Y10 students is 6th July for one week.
