Rugby Union Team Victory Again

In 1823, William Webb Ellis first picked up a ball and ran with it in his arms by 2003 England were successful in winning the Rugby World Cup and in 2014 The Arthur Terry School 1st XV completed the season undefeated. These truly are three exceptional and astounding feats of endurance, focused discipline and teamwork. The Arthur Terry School 1st XV was a team that trained together, played together and celebrated success together. Experience was provided by rugby veterans who play for local clubs, JJ Watson, Max Craven, Ed Shilcof, Louca Ruggieri, Will Hodgkinson and Tom Burke. The experience was finely matched with fresh rugby brains developing over the year playing in their first ever rugby games and those players that played with heart, strength, and little brainpower involved at all. The season started off strong with a hard fought win against the Friary School 19-27. With tries provided by Max Cravens and Harry Humpherson The impressive start continued with a tied game against Rawlette School, with a match saving try by Louca Millosha in the final moments of the game. The final game of the season saw an away fixture at Tamworth Rugby Club for the re-match. With trys by Cravens (2), Jenkins (2) and Humpherson (2), the boys came home with a 29 – 34 victory. We are delighted with all the players that donned The Arthur Terry 1st XV jersey this year. It has been fantastic to see you all develop as players of the year. Stay strong and fit over the summer and we will be back next year to continue onto greater things.
