Our wonderful Sixth Formers have been working hard over the last few weeks, not only on their studies but in supporting those who are in need over the Christmas Period.
Students have spent a number of weeks in the run up to the appeal raising the plight of the women’s refuge in our local area amongst staff and students. Items of need included boxes of toys, toiletries and other gifts suitable for not only the children in the refuge but their parents too.
Natasha Pullen who collects on behalf of the different refuges visited Arthur Terry to thank the students and collect the gifts. Natasha was touched by the generosity of them all, explaining to the students that the gifts would be split between four refuges Caldmore Accord in Walsall, Pathway Project in Lichfield, Staffordshire Women’s Aid in Staffs and a refuge in Tamworth, supporting over 150 children and adults who reside in them. Natasha also explained that the parents are able to wrap the presents for their children, making the gift more personal and special. Any surplus gifts will be kept until Christmas Eve/day when those who come to the refuge at the last minute can benefit from them.
Thank you all who donated and supported this very worthy cause!
