On Thursday 27th April and Wednesday 3rd May, fourteen Arthur Terry year 13 students participated in the prestigious Meet, Eat, Drink & Learn (MEDaL) employability programme at The Royal Hotel in Sutton Coldfield.
The programme is the brainchild of Professor Jo Andrews who led the participants through interactive sessions exploring effective job applications, CV writing & interview techniques, collaborative working practises and event management logistics.
The students who are soon to graduate from Arthur Terry sixth form enjoyed the professional, work-place feel of the event which was only possible thanks to a funding grant from the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust.
Grants Manager, John Hemming and Chief Executive Ernie Murray attended the event to award the medals at the culmination of the course whilst Sutton Coldfield Conservative Candidate Andrew Mitchell and Sutton Coldfield’s Chamber of Commerce, Julia Gray also attended the medal ceremony.
Professor Jo Andrews said, ‘the AT students were an absolute delight, they are bright, polite, engaging and interesting. What more can I say? They are all a credit to the school.’
The students who participated were: Thomas Ashford, Cherrie Hayes, Jamie Morrow-Jones, Olivia Wilkins, Daniel Gaffney, Reece Arnold, Nicholas Bennett, Emily Rollins, Alex Woods, Tristan Coley, Richard Brierwood, Davinder Shergill, Ally Brown and Matthew Gainer.
