Sixth Formers teach at ATLP’s, ‘Democracy Day’!

Year 12 Politics students from Arthur Terry spent Monday 12th March at Mere Green Primary School participating in, and contributing to, the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership (ATLP)’s, ‘Democracy Day’ – an inter-school politics event that drew together students from Brookvale, Mere Green, Scotch Orchard and William MacGreggor primary schools.

The event was primarily organised by Mere Green’s Humanities Lead and Parliament Ambassador, Mr Richard Anderton.

The event commenced with an extended Skype Q&A with the Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow MP, before continuing with further students’ questions, this time regarding local government, to Birmingham City Councillor, Rob Pocock (Labour). The event concluded with interactive lessons on the Suffragettes delivered by our very own year 12 A-Level politics students!
