Huge congratulations to Elliot Perlic & Faith Williams who last night (Thursday 5th July) represented Arthur Terry so ably during the annual Sutton Coldfield School’s Parliamentary Debating Competition. Arthur Terry opposed the motion ‘The house believes that airline travel should be significantly taxed’ with aplomb and was, without doubt, among the most entertaining and witty speeches of the night.
The pairs lighthearted but at the same time poignant debating style was replicated once again in the unseen motion final rounds where Elliot & Faith were asked to argue that, ‘Mobile phones should be banned from schools completely’.
Congratulations once again to both students who performed so well and huge thanks to Mr Josh Lomas who after several years leading the school debating team will be passing on the baton next time around. Thanks also to ATLP Executive Head Teacher Mr Warner who once again joined us to support both his Arthur Terry and John Willmott charges. The eventual winners on the night were Fairfax School who thoroughly deserved the trophy.
