Uniformed Services Remember the Fallen

The events in Paris on Friday have rocked the world and devastated lives. They have left people in utter disbelief at how a few people can harm their fellow man with such ferocity and rage. Our thoughts are, of course, with those innocent victims and their families. Out of tragedy always comes hope. The love and support from all groups of people, all races, all religions, all ages has been phenomenal. It is so easy to make sweeping generalisations about people, but this massive show of support is a real endorsement of everything that is good in this world. There is so much that is good. Martin Luther King stated that “darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that”. Our website picture shows all of our students who are part of the Uniformed Services who helped commemorate Remembrance Day last week. Our Sixth Form Leadership Team laid wreaths at the cenotaph on behalf of our school last Sunday. As a school community, we continue to hold dear to our values of respecting everyone and celebrating each other for who they are. For that is what is important.
