Winter Concert – Too Cool For School

The stage is being set for a spellbinding evening of musical delight at Arthur Terry School as gifted students prepare to perform at the outstanding academy’s annual Winter Concert next week.

The popular free event – which is open to the public and takes place at 7pm on Wednesday 29 November – will showcase a range of talent from across the school, including musical ensembles and solo performances.

The concert is being organised and directed by teacher Rebecca Deekes. She said:

“The show is designed to bring together the rich array of musical talent at Arthur Terry School and all students have worked incredibly hard to ensure its success.

“The concert will feature some winter themed performances and festive songs, along with some classic pieces. There’s something for everyone and we look forward to extending the warmest of welcomes to parents, students, visitors and members of the community.”

Headteacher Samantha Kibble added: “The school has an outstanding reputation for performing arts. Our students are creative and versatile and know how to put on a spectacular show – We are incredibly proud of their hard work and commitment.

This year’s concert will be set against the stunning backdrop of a ‘real’ 12ft Christmas tree, donated by GardenSite.co.uk which sells an amazing selection of Christmas decorations online and who were delighted to help transform Arthur Terry into a winter wonderland for the evening.

David Coton, Gardensite partner, said: “This seasonal concert is a great chance for the whole school and community to come together and share a joyful evening of music.

“I was only glad to be able to support by donating the Christmas tree to a great school and the team at GardenSite and I wish everybody success for the evening.”

The event is free, but any donations will be given to the school’s music department.
